Gas Field discovery was announced by Saudi Aramco on Sunday, February 25th with a capacity of nearly 15 trillion cubic feet.

According to the paper, it could turn Saudi Arabia into the world’s third-biggest gas producer and exporter within the upcoming years.

Condensates increased by two billion barrels to a total of 75 billion barrels in the field, nearly 17,000 square kilometers, the size of Kuwait.

information about Gas field:

According to a former adviser at the Saudi Oil Ministry, a significant discovery at one of Saudi Arabia’s largest gas fields is expected to boost the country’s revenues and transform it into a major gas exporter.

Oil company Saudi Aramco recently announced that it has increased its estimates of gas deposits in the Jafurah field in Eastern Saudi Arabia by almost 15 trillion cubic feet (tcf) to a total of nearly 229 trillion tcf.

Additionally, it reported an increase in condensates by almost two billion barrels to a total of 75 billion barrels at the field, which covers an area of nearly 17,000 sq km.

The discovery will help Saudi Arabia diversify its sources of income and energy, according to Mohammed Al-Sabban, a former adviser at the Oil Ministry.

He explained that this increase would allow the country to start exporting gas instead of consuming most of the production in local petrochemical units and other facilities.

Another well-known Saudi energy expert quoted by a Saudi Arabic language daily Asharq Alawsat suggested that the new addition could turn Saudi Arabia into the world’s third-largest gas producer within a few years.

He added that it would also support Saudi Arabia’s position as a pioneer in the global energy industry and turn Aramco into the largest integrated energy and petrochemicals company in the world.

Currently the highest producers of gas are the United States, Russia, Iran and Canada.

Jordan is increasing production from the Risha field by 566% to meet the demands and be more self-sufficient within the energy sector.

Jordan is building two plants one in the north and the other in the south side of Jordan to receive and process gas.

National Petroleum Company (NPC) has the right to explore and produce oil in the kingdom.

Jordan is investing in increasing the output of the Risha field to increase its Gas production by 566%.

As a plan to improve and expand the local energy field, Jordan is investing in and developing the Risha field in northwest Jordan.

The plan is to increase the production of the field from 849,505 cubic meters per day to 5,663,369 cubic meters per day said the chairman of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, Ziad Al-Saaydi.

He also informed businesses at Irbid Chamber of Commerce and Industry in north Jordan that the project is a must to ensure Jordan’s self-sufficiency in local energy consumption and to meet the annually increasing demand in the industrial sector of the country.

Ziad Al-Saaydi also revealed that Jordan is building two plants in the northern and southern parts of Jordan to receive and process gas.

Risha Field is owned by National Petroleum, which is an oil and gas company that offers assets and services such as management, production, drilling, operations and the development of oil and gas assets.

They also carry out production within the kingdom and abroad, yet the headquarters for the company is stationed in Amman, Jordan.

Risha Field was discovered in 1986 by the Natural Resources Authority which continued exploration until 1995 until its transfer to the National Petroleum Company.

The Risha Concession Agreement was signed in 1996 and is valid for 50 years, with the possibility of extension. Under this agreement, the National Petroleum Company (NPC) has been granted the right to explore and produce oil within the concession area, as well as undertake any related operations.

This includes the exploration and development of oil and natural gas, production, marketing, and transportation of gas and oil extracted within the Kingdom.
